J. Glarsten
J. Glarsten has written so much for so many places and in so many forms, he's lost count. (Although he swears he's never written for a bridal magazine or a magazine centered on power tools or bass fishing. Not that there's anything wrong with those magazines, he assures us.)
J has written or been actively involved in almost every media industry--film; TV; internet; music; string-strung-across-long-distances-with-tin-cans. (The tin can gig he did when he was a kid. But, J says, there were probably smarter people involved in that than in many of the industries he's experienced since.) J has lived and fled suburbs in almost every geographic region of America. He currently lives in the burbs...somewhere, he says, between NYC and LA (two cities where he's also spent a lot of time).
J.Glarsten is not J's real name. He likes the sound of J.Glarsten; he has a certain history with the name and, since he's still writing and working actively in many different areas, he thought it was time to adopt this (special) name and write with its fresh idiosyncratic personality. (Whatever works, we told him.)

A lot of us have received a lot of messages over the years from Robert Redford -- from his Natural Resources Defense Council & other environmental groups. We've read his NY Times op-ed pieces imploring the government -- and us -- to be more environmentally sensitive. I don't disagree with a lot of what he's been telling ...read more.
Ever get the feeling that the folks who run your local town council or city hall aren't exactly the sharpest tooth picks in the hors d'oeuvre factory? I do. Truth is, most towns seem to have a rule that a majority of their political offices be held by either the local

Up front...I'm a progressive. I want Obama to succeed. But it's a given...Biden is, if not stupid, a dope. His comments this morning about swine flu were unmistakeable: I'm telling my family to avoid airplanes, subways, confined spaces like classrooms (and presumably offices), etc....you gotta problem with that? ...read more.
