An Unhealthy Attachment To A Floppy Disk Drive?

We understand everybody places different values on certain things they own. For example, we like this old beat up pillow we used to have in our college dorm room. Yeah, it may have a (very faded, barely visible) image of some scantily clad people on one side of it but, end of day, it's a pillow. And it smells and really is a piece of garbage but we'd be upset if someone stole it or it just vanished.

So we're not going to judge others for their own individual peculiar attachments. In this guy's case it's his floppy disk drive. He wants it back. He's pissed. And apparently he's willing to pay...

- submitted by Anonymous on 09/17/2009

Maybe it's a barrel on wheels? (or a barrel of wheels)

No one gets it

- submitted by Anonymous on 09/17/2009

It is an IBM external Laptop Drive. While you get them by the truckload of EBay, IBM actually changed these suckers so often you must be really lucky to get the right one.

And if you are really out of luck, your superb IBM Craptop don“t boot from the CD. So if you change the HD ( also hard to get for older Modells ) you basically brick the thing.

Face it : If someone steals my 1541 ( Disk Dirve for my old C64 ) i would have more luck getting an new one although the C64 ceaased to exist around 1985.

That was one the reasons why everybody who had to pay for it hated IBM, while Users liked them. I also liked them.

c'mon guys, it's

c'mon guys, it's wheelbarrow. maybe the drive belonged to someone important to the guy, lets face it, it's a guy.

Must be nice . . .

- submitted by Anonymous on 09/17/2009

Must be nice, being so perfect and all, never misspelling a word. I bet you guys got straight A's in school, never failed a test, or missed a question for that matter. You've never had a traffic violation. You have never made a mistake in your life, have you? It must be nice.

reverse psychology

- submitted by reverse psychology on 09/17/2009

Maybe this is an attempt to trick the theif into contacting the man when he finds humor in the fact that dude wants his drive back. At which point, dude prevails by citizen's arresting the criminal and all is right again in gotham.

Nerds...

Hmm, you know a floppy drive

- submitted by Anonymous on 09/17/2009

Hmm, you know a floppy drive would make an interesting extra cash hiding place. Personally I'm betting on a similar idea to what reverse psychology said, but he could have a few hundred dollars stashed in it, and be willing to pay $20 for the safe return from a clueless crook.

Um, there's a difference between a misspelling and an obvious misunderstanding of what a word even IS.

whelbarrow =/= wheel barrel

Both wrong, one more wrong than the other.
